Resize an image

This tool allows you to resize an image online according to your needs (reduction of the image size while respecting the proportions, resizing according to precise dimensions, creation of a thumbnail, etc).

You can choose between the 5 resizing modes offered (at the bottom of the page).

Resize according to one side

To reduce (or increase) the size of an image proportionally based on one of the sides, select one of the first 2 choices from the dropdown list.

For example, to get an image with a width of 800 pixels, choose "resize to a fixed width", enter 800 in the "width" field and leave the "height" field empty.

Resize to fixed dimensions

To resize an image to fixed dimensions, choose one of the 3 options provided (starting with "to fixed dimensions").

In this case, unless you enter new dimensions strictly proportional to those of the image, you will either have to distort the image to adapt it to the new dimensions, or crop the edges to prevent the image from being distorted.

For example, the following image (with dimensions 300x200) needs to be resized to a square of 150x150 pixels:

By choosing the option "center and crop the edges if necessary" from the dropdown list, the image will be resized while keeping the proportions, then the edges will be cropped after centering the image:

By choosing the option "crop the edges at the bottom right if necessary", the image will be resized while keeping the proportions, then the edges will only be cropped at the bottom or right of the image:

By choosing the option "do not crop the edges, distort if necessary", the image will be resized to the new dimensions by distorting it if necessary:

Result in JPG format

You can resize images of different formats (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP), they will then be automatically converted to JPG format after resizing.

If necessary, you can modify the quality of the generated JPG (when in doubt, leave the default value).
